A sister company of Patriot Nation Design
Your design, cut-ready for your machine.
Tell us your machine, bits and wood. We build V-carve G-code, tuned to your setup, so you can skip the CAM work and go straight to carving.
How ordering works
Five steps from picking a design to carving it.
-
Pick your design
Choose any design from the Patriot Nation Design catalog, or send your own artwork and we’ll convert it to an SVG for $10.
-
Fill out the intake form
Tell us about your machine, controller, bits and wood. Measure your board with calipers so the carve depth comes out right.
-
Sign the waiver and pay
Check the box agreeing to our liability waiver and terms, type your name to sign, then check out. Your order goes into the queue right away.
-
Get your files
Within 2 to 3 business days you get your G-code files plus a one-page setup sheet showing the zero point, bit order and clamp-free zones. If anything on your intake is missing, we’ll email you, and the clock starts once we have it.
-
Check the path, then carve
Jog to the corners of the job to make sure it fits the board and clears your clamps. A short air cut is a good extra check. Then zero on the material and carve, and stay with your machine the whole time.
Have this ready before you order
The intake form asks for all of this. The more exact you are, the better your carve turns out.
- Machine make and modelFor example: Shapeoko 4 XXL, Onefinity Woodworker, X-Carve 1000mm.
- Controller or softwareCarbide Motion, GRBL (UGS or gSender), Mach3/4, Masso, or your machine’s own controller.
- Router or spindleBrand, and whether your machine turns it on and sets the speed or you do it by hand.
- Your V-bitAngle (60° or 90°), diameter, and brand if you know it.
- Your clearing bitEnd mill diameter (⅛" or ¼"), number of flutes, and downcut or upcut.
- Wood typePine, poplar, oak, walnut, maple, cedar, MDF or other.
- Measured thicknessMeasure the actual board. A ¾" board is often closer to 0.70".
- Finished sizeWidth and height of the carve, and the full board size.
- Carve depthHow deep you want the flat areas cleared, or let us choose.
- Clamp locationsWhere your clamps or hold-downs sit so we keep the toolpath clear of them.
What you get
- G-code files for your machine’s controller, one file per bit, numbered in the order you run them (for example,
Order1042_1_Vbit90.ncthenOrder1042_2_Clear125.nc) - V-carve toolpath plus a flat clearing pass
- Feeds, speeds and pass depths set for your bits and wood
- A setup sheet with a toolpath preview, zero point, bit order and estimated run time
- One free revision if your intake info was accurate

Setting up and staying safe
Every file starts from the bottom-left corner of your board, on the top surface. Zero X and Y on that corner, then zero Z on top of the wood.
Check the path before you cut. At minimum, jog the bit to each corner of the job using the size on your setup sheet to confirm it fits the board and clears your clamps. For a better check, raise Z about an inch and run the first minute or two of each toolpath in the air. Then reset Z on the material and carve.
Never leave your machine running unattended. Wear eye and hearing protection, and keep dust collection on.

Questions
Why do I need to measure my board?
Boards are rarely their labeled thickness. We set carve depths from the top of your material, so an exact measurement keeps the carve clean and even.
What’s an air cut?
It’s a test run with the bit raised above the board. You don’t need to air cut the whole job. Running the first minute or two of each toolpath is usually enough to catch a wrong zero or a clamp in the way before it costs you a bit or a board.
Can I use a different bit than I listed?
No. The file is built for the exact bits on your intake. A different angle or diameter will change the carve and can break the bit. Order a new file or ask for a revision.
What if the carve doesn’t come out right?
Send us a photo and your setup details. If your intake info was accurate, we’ll revise the file free. If something changed on your end, revisions are $10.
Can you split a big sign into sections?
No. We don’t tile or split jobs across multiple cuts. Your design needs to fit inside your machine’s cutting area.
Can I get a refund?
Because each file is custom built, orders can’t be refunded once work starts. If we can’t support your machine, we’ll refund you before we begin.
Can you convert my team, school or company logo?
Only if you own it or have permission. We don’t convert trademarked logos or characters, such as sports teams, colleges, cartoon characters or company brands, without a license. If we can’t take your artwork, we’ll refund you before any work starts.
How do I get help with my order?
Email us with your order number. We reply within one business day, Monday through Friday. Check the troubleshooting guide first, since it answers most carve questions right away.
Can I sell what I carve?
Yes. You can sell finished pieces made from your file. You can’t share or resell the file itself.
Ready to carve?
Grab your calipers, check your bits, and fill out the intake form. It takes about 5 minutes.
